Workshop Schedule

Yates County Arts Center
June 6, 7 & 8, 2012

What a better way to kick off the summer than with a 3 day totally infused with color exploration, glazing with watercolor techniques and then mounting on to an Ampersand Claybord panel provided by the manufacturer in the Finger Lakes!

I absolutely loved this statement from my favorite artist, Georgia O’Keefe;

Georgia O’Keefe said, “If I could paint the flower exactly as I see it no one would see what I see because I would paint it small like the flower is small. So I said to myself – I’ll paint what I see – what the flower is to me but I’ll paint it big and they will be surprised into taking time to look at it – I will make even busy New Yorkers take time to see what I see of flowers.”

Learn the techniques used by Peggy Martinez to paint her exquisite watercolor flowers a la O’Keefe. Participants will also learn how to mount a finished watercolor on to a gallery style Ampersand panel and will have a painting ready to hang at the completion of this three day workshop.
